Biographical Note
Megan M. Holland graduated the University of Pennsylvania, Magna cum Laude, with a B.A. in Sociology in May 2003. Her honors thesis is entitled, "Magnet vs. Neighborhood Public Schools: How High School Type affects the Ways in Which Students Navigate the College Admissions Process." While at UPenn she was awarded the E. Digby
Baltzell Thesis award in Sociology and made the dean's list from 2000-2002. Following graduation, she worked
as an English teacher for Teach for America in Indianola, MS until May 2005. From June through August 2005,
she worked for Public/Private Ventures as a Research and Evaluation Intern, where she focused on an inmate
re-entry program at Riker's island. Since August 2005 she has been working for the U.S. Attorney's Office SDNY
as a Paralegal Specialist.
