entered program 1998, CBB.  Daniel Schacter, adviser.  My interests lie in the domain of cognitive neuroscience with a particular emphasis on the neural underpinnings of memory and attention. My first year project is using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to asses the role of anterior hippocampus in relational encoding. I am also involved in a project using selective cholinergic lesioning of the medial septum in rats to assess its involvement in attention to distal vs local
cues in spatial learning.

Main research interest in stereotyping, with special emphasis on social stigmas that contribute to the sustained academic underachievement of stigmatized group members.  Laboratory research in stereotyping interfaces with social cognition by focusing on attributions, perceptions, self-esteem and discrimination.

I am interested in visual perception, cognitive development and categorization.  Specifically, I am interested in the developmental and categorizational issues related to change blindness, the inability to notice changes across an object or visual field.

My research interests are in psychology and law. My current research interests are in the area of child memory and suggestibility. More specifically, I am looking at individual differences between children that may potentially relate to differences in suggestibility. I also have an interest in prison research and the effectiveness of rehabilitative programs for prisoners (particularly women prisoners).
